Mission Statement

"PITTSBURGH SOCCER IN THE COMMUNITY (PSC) aims to provide high-quality, minimal cost soccer coaching to the inner-city children of Pittsburgh, who for financial and demographic reasons would normally not receive this opportunity.  The soccer coaching will be combined with lifestyle seminars provided by external agencies.  These seminars will be designed to assist the children in making positive, healthy and informed life decisions, whilst maintaining a relaxed and interactive environment."

PITTSBURGH SOCCER IN THE COMMUNITY was founded in December 2004 by James Meara and Mark Taylor with the aim of providing children in the “at - risk” communities of Pittsburgh with soccer tuition and lifestyle skills.  Since then, we have reached the lives of over 700 children in numerous communities throughout the Pittsburgh area and beyond.

Over the past two years, PITTSBURGH SOCCER IN THE COMMUNITY has formed many working relationships throughout the Pittsburgh area. Our partners include:

The City of Pittsburgh Police

The Pittsburgh Office of the F.B.I.

PA West Soccer Association

The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern PA

The Pennsylvania State Police

The Pittsburgh Women's Shelter
