Mark Taylor

Co-Founder, Director of Operations, Staff Coach

Mr. Taylor graduated from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle (U.K.) with honors in Sports Development and Coaching where he also represented the varsity soccer team. Mr. Taylor is currently the President and Senior Staff Coach for Arsenal FC of PA and was the Varsity Coach for the Boys Soccer Team at Central Catholic High School.

Mr. Taylor co-founded PSC in 2004.

Haji Muya

PSC League Manager, Staff Coach

Mr. Muya graduated from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associate Degree in Filmmaking & Video Productions. Mr. Muya is an alumnus to the program, he was a participant in the PSC program for four years.  In this time he established himself a well known leader in the community. He joined the organization as a staff member in 2012. Mr. Muya is currently the Assistant Coach of Arsenal FC of PA U8s team and the Assistant Coach a mentor for Pittsburgh Somali Bantu Community Team.

Jonathan Velotta

Director of Programming, Staff Coach

Mr. Velotta graduated from Brescia University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English  and went on to obtain a Masters in Sport Administration at the University of Louisville in December of 2005. As a player at Brescia, Velotta was a 2002 NAIA All-American, team captain and earned all-conference honors twice.

Mr. Velotta is currently the Club Development Officer of Arsenal FC of PA. He has over 15 years of college coaching experience at the Division I, II and III level, while also working in youth soccer for over 20 years, including roles as Youth Technical Director and Director of Coaching.

He joined the PSC Staff in the spring of 2019.

Rebecca Reuss

PSC League Coordinator, Staff Coach

Ms. Reuss is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with her bachelors in Applied Developmental Psychology. She is currently working towards a law degree and works at Center for Victims as a legal advocate in the specialized victims’ unit.

Prior to her career post-undergrad, Ms. Reuss played in a multitude of soccer leagues. She was a captain on several top-ranking teams in the state and in the country. Being forced to retire early due to injury complications, Ms. Reuss looked elsewhere to get her soccer fix.

Now a coach and an active member of Pittsburgh Soccer in the Community, she is passionate about bringing her love of the game to those that are still able to play.

James Meara

Co-Founder, Fundraising Chair, Staff Coach

Mr. Meara started out his football training as an 8 year old with Watford Football Club.  His professional soccer playing career included the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Professional Soccer Team, Doncaster Rovers Football Club Professional Team (U.K.), , and the Watford Football Club Professional Team (U.K.).

Mr. Meara is currently the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Academy East Director.

Steven Rerick

Mr. Rerick graduated from Slippery Rock University with an Undergraduate in Public Health and Psychology in 2018 as well as a Masters Degree in Public Health in 2020. He also represented the varsity soccer team, winning two PSAC Championships and making a berth in the NCAA Tournament and later joined the coaching staff for 3 years. Mr. Rerick is currently the Director of Goalkeeping for Arsenal FC of PA / Steel City as well as serving as an Assistant Coach for Carnegie Mellon University.

Hussein Amberwa

PSC League Assistant, Staff Coach

Mr. Amberwa graduated from Westinghouse High School in the Pittsburgh Public Schools class of 2019, where he received the principle award for the most improved student in his senior year. Mr. Amberwa has been a part of the the PSC organization since 2007. Starting as a participant in the youth program before moving on to the part time staff in 2018. Mr. Amberwa has now joined the PSC full time staff as the Field House facility manager, beginning in 2021.   Also he is a member of the Pittsburgh Somail Bantu Community Team (FC Foreign) who compete in the PSCL.
